As our first action, the 'Students of Empada' Project invests in college scholarships for local students in Guinea-Bissau. The scholarships cover tuition in Bissau, the country’s capital, for students from the village of Empada. We believe that education is the most efficient way of catalyzing changes and creating youth leadership in small communities.
To turn it into reality, together with clothing brands Aesthetic (Brazil) and Akomplice (USA), MOI Platform produced a collection of T-Shirts and Fine art prints portraying a photographic journey to the village of Empada and its residents. Photographer Philippe Pessoa shot the photos during the Platform’s founder’s trip to Guinea-Bissau.
